Footpath Resurfacing Work Completed Sat, 2018-10-13 14:18

With massive thanks to Open Country the path from the War Memorial to Harlow Moor Road has been resurfaced. Works took the best part of 3 days but the result are very impressive with new gravel being added and compacted.

We will review the need for any additional works after the winter.

We know our campaign to protect Rotary Wood is generating lots of questions so we've tried to address them here. If there are any further questions then please let us know via email or social media. Our main priorities are to ensure this issue is debated and that any actions are carried out in an open and transparent way.

Q1: Have you raised with your MP and what is their view? A1: Yes, we wrote on 3rd January and await reply. Mr Jones was involved in the original planting.

We have now received our commissioned Ecology Report that outlines the full impact of the planned development of Rotary Wood. It also raises a number of concerns regarding the Harrogate Spring Water commissioned report undertaken last year. This report has been submitted to Harrogate Council as additional information to support our objection.

We are seeking to challenge development of around 4 acres of the Pinewoods to allow for expansion of Harrogate Spring Water. We are repeatedly asked about potential conflicts of interest within Harrogate Borough Council (HBC) regarding the Harrogate Spring Water Limited (HSWL) planning application. HBC is of course planning authority and landowner. It also reported that the council has a continued financial interest in terms of revenue linked to turnover.
