We are repeatedly asked about potential conflicts of interest within Harrogate Borough Council (HBC) regarding the Harrogate Spring Water Limited (HSWL) planning application. HBC is of course planning authority and landowner. It also reported that the council has a continued financial interest in terms of revenue linked to turnover. At the Harrogate&Ripon CVS Volunteering Oscars on 31st October our ex chair and committee member Geoff Scurrah was awarded Wildlife Volunteer of the Year. It was the first time this category had been added to the awards that made a member of the Pinewoods winning all the more special. Detail |

Pinewoods Conservation Group met with Yorkshire Water last week to discuss grass cutting at Harlow Moor Water Treatment Works. The meeting was also attended by Harrogate District Bio Diversity Action Group (HDBAG) and Rebecca Burnett from the office of Andrew Jones MP after approached by local residents around the issue.
