At the Harrogate&Ripon CVS Volunteering Oscars on 31st October our ex chair and committee member Geoff Scurrah was awarded Wildlife Volunteer of the Year. It was the first time this category had been added to the awards that made a member of the Pinewoods winning all the more special. Geoff is a previous chair of the group and has been influential in the implementation of a number of projects including the well used and loved binoculars. Geoff remains an active member of the group who can been seen almost daily refilling the bird feeding station and balsam bashing in the summer months.
