The Pinewoods Conservation Group (PCG) has secured over £40,000 of funding this year to help with conservation and improvements of The Pinewoods. The funds will be used for a number of key projects including the re-surfacing of a main path, professional removal of Himalayan Balsam plus the re-introduction of native wild flowers. Detail |

The Pinewoods Conservation Group (PCG) is planning to take part in the Harrogate Council 101 Bicyclettes project. The council is encouraging local groups, volunteers and residents to get involved in the Tour De France by decorating bicycles and displaying them across our district.

The RHS have recently published an update leaflet and map that shows the 1.5m walk from Harrogate Town Centre through Valley Gardens, the Pinewoods before reaching RHS Harlow Carr. A copy can be downloaded here or found at tourist informaiton. Detail |

| No Sun But Lots of Fun at the Pinewoods Open Day | Tue, 2014-09-23 18:26 |
The sun didn’t arrive for the Pinewoods Open Day last week but lot of visitors did. Many hundreds of visitors enjoyed the various stalls and events arranged by the Pinewoods Conservation Group. The day was also attended by the Mayor and Mayoress with the prize raffle being drawn by local MP Andrew Jones. The highlight of the day was a number of demonstrations by local group "Top Dog Agility" who kept the crowds entertained. Detail |

This morning we planted a memorial tree in memory of one of our founding Members who died a year ago, Veronica Davenport. It was cold, wet & muddy but we had 20 people there & 11 dogs and there were others that wanted to come but were unable to make it. We planted a native crab apple and put some bulbs at the base. Update: The footpath as now been re-edged and resurfaced and is back open. Let us know what you think! Please note the main path from Harlow Moor Road to the Recreation Field will be closed from Monday 9th November for up to 4 weeks for repairs and resurfacing works. Harlow Moor Road, Nursery Lane East & across the Recreation Field will be an alternative route (see blue route on map below). Detail |

Updated 1st Feb 2014: Thank you to the 12 new members for January. Just another 88 to go to meet our 100 target for 2014. The Pinewoods Conservation Group (PCG) has launched a membership drive for 2014. The Harrogate based charity, which promotes the maintenance and conservation of the area known as the Pinewoods situated between the Valley Gardens and Harlow Carr Gardens, is looking to double its members during the year.
